A young lady, in white dress with lace trim with garland of pink flowers draped over her right shoulder and another tied around her right arm at the elbow, blue ribbon tied with a bow at her right shoulder, loose powdered hair dressed 'à la conseillère'

(60 mm.) diam., set into the lid of a Louis XVI gold bonbonnière, the base with concentrical reeding scattered with pellets, the sides similarly scattered on horizontal reeding, by Nicolas Marguerit (fl. 1763-1790), Paris, 1781/82, with the first charge and discharge marks of Henry Clavel 1780-1782 and later Dutch marks
