This subject is unusual within Munnings' oeuvre. He rarely included architectural elements in his equestrian portraits and thus far this scene remains unidentified.
This work will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the works of Sir Alfred Munnings compiled by Lorian Peralta-Ramos.
This lot is offered without reserve.
