FREUD, Sigmund (1856-1939). Portrait photograph signed and dated (at bottom right of image, 'Sigm. Freud 1922'), the bust-length image with blind stamp at lower left corner by the photographer, Max Halberstadt, Hamburg, 300 x 232mm (slight silvering at left and lower margins).
The photographer, Max Halbertadt (1882-1940), was the widower of Freud's daughter Sophie (his 'Sonntagskind'), who had died in 1920 while pregnant with their third child.
