A fan depicting cats as actors portrayed in their make-up mirrors, signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi, good impression, colours and condition, slight soiling, and; Ryuko neko no omi-ri [Recognition of Fashionable Cats] where the actors Sawamura Sojuro, Ichikawa Danjuro, Onoe Kikgoro, Otani Tomoemon, Bando Shuka, Ichikawa Kuzo, Onoe Kikujiro, Onoe Baiko and Arashi Kichisaburo are portrayed as cats reflected in their make-up mirrors, signed Konomi ni tsuku [in accordance with an esteemed wish] Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi, published by Kawaguchiya Kihei, kiwame seal

The first accompanied by a hand-written letter from Jack Sassoon:
'Perhaps you will remember, about 40 years ago I bought a great quantity of prints, of which you had several, including 3 Kuniyoshi cat prints; I kept this promising to leave it to you in my will! But why wait. Here it is with my blessing while we can both appreciate it - the giving and receiving.'
