A bronze figure of Buddha Indonesia, Java, 10th century Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base over a square plinth, dressed in a tight sanghati with two tassels elegantly resting on the base before him, the face with serene expression and downcast eyes with the hair in tight curls over the ushnisha, backed by an arched plate with foliate scrollwork and topped by a circular parasol 7¾ in. (19.7 cm.) high
