A FINELY CARVED JADE FINGER CITRON
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-95)
Naturalistically carved to imitate a fruit with curled finger-like tendrils and supported on a pierced gnarled stalk growing another smaller finger citron and clusters of leaves, the stone of a pale greyish-celadon tone with some minor russet inclusions
7¼ in. (18.4 cm.) long, carved wood stand
Purchased from Spink & Son Ltd., London, in July 1991.
