Nelson's column is one of the most iconic landmarks of London, built between 1840-43, designed by William Railton, the figure sculpted by E.H. Bailley. A model of the Nelson's column was commissioned by a group of Naval Officers to be made in silver as a presentation to the Royal Naval College, but before the mould was destroyed reputedly a silversmith employee cast this bronze version.
