    Lot Essay

‘The language of Cragg’s most recent work attests to the asphyxiation of sculpture: it is the space of passion, where the object does not shun organic and erotic discourse. It expresses itself as a body in the larval state, capable of growing and expanding, arriving at the ultimate experience’ (G. Celant, Tony Cragg, Milan 1996, p.25).
