Drafted 1st by the Orlando Magic in the 1992, Shaquille O'Neal quickly became a dominant force in the NBA. Named Rookie of the year in 1993, Shaq went on to win four NBA titles and was awarded the Most Valuable Player award in 2000. With a professional career of 19 years and having played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics, Shaquille O’neal was one of the very few players to reach the NBA Finals with three different teams.
With a rich history of athletic partnerships, Audemars Piguet crafted the present timepiece to commemorate Shaquille O’neal. Manufactured circa 2008, when Shaq won an NBA title with the Miami Heat, the wristwatch adopts the colors of the team, with the 3 and 2 o’clock numerals inverted and in red, referring to the jersey number 32 of the player. Adding to the rarity of the edition, the wristwatch is furthermore offered with a wooden box in the shape of a basketball, with a red facsimile signature of Shaquille O’neal.
