With Breguet Certificate No. 4126 dated 24 November 1997 confirming sale of the present "small repeating watch with crown winding and hour setting" to Monsieur Rigaud, propriétaire à Bouliac, on 31 January 1850 for the amount of 2,800 Francs. Furthermore delivered with a green leather presentation box signed Breguet, 12, Rue de la Paix, 12, Paris, No. 1011.
Little information is available about Mr. Rigaud, proprietor in Bouliac, a small town in the vicinity of Bordeaux, France. He appears to have been a regular client of the celebrated house of Breguet: in 1826 he purchased watch no. 3801, an 18K gold à tact quarter repeater, watch no. 206, an 18K gold "simple" hunter cased watch was sold to him on 25 November 1837.
