Introduced at the 2004 Basel Fair, the gold Daytona Chronograph reference 116598 SACO immediately had the horology world talking about it thanks to its outlandish design. With diamond hour markers on the dial a leopard print background, echoed on the strap, the bezel is encrusted with 36 baguette-cut yellow sapphires, the hoods between the lugs is encrusted with 48 brilliant-cut diamonds and with 8 diamond-set numerals. Once again Rolex manages to reinvent the rules of contemporary horology.
Furthermore, the present watch is set with 36 yellow sapphires weighing approximately 5.00 carats and 56 diamonds weighing approximately 1.50 carats.
