Accompanied by an Omas guarantee dated November 13th, 1995, an Omas signed certificate confirming the present pen is number 221 in a limited edition of 500, an Omas Jerusalem 3000 olive wood presentation box, product literature, protective pouch, and outer packaging.
1996 marked the 3000th anniversary since King David established the city of Jerusalem as the capital of his kingdom. A city rich with sacred historical sites, with treasures of art and culture, it remains a spiritual focal point. Omas introduced two special limited edition pens in order to celebrate this occasion where only 500 examples o the 18k gold version were produced and 3000 of the silver.
Omas used approximately 65 grams of solid gold to create the present pen and in its totality it represents the city in an inspiring way. Impressed by several landmarks, Omas chose to focus on three gates as symbols for this celebration. The circular Jaffa Gate also called the Gate of King David, welcomes people to the city and leads them towards the ancient part of Jaffa. The Zion Gate is named for the main street which connects this entry to the city to the central marketplace. And finally there is the Lion's Gate, with its decor of floral designs and sentinel lions. The ancient Wailing Wall, one of the most cherished sites in the entire world today, is also etched delicately onto the pen. Images are emphasized by separating each of them with a floral lace pattern that wraps elegantly around the pen. Completing the symbolism of the design are engravings of the ancient star, rosettes, and the cartouche where the official logo is represented in three different languages: English, Hebrew, and Arabic. The olive wood of the prsentation box was chosen as of its symbolic associated with peace.
