With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1879 and its subsequent sale on June 3rd of 1881. Further accompanied original Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and Warranty dated June 2nd, 1881 confirming the case monogram, leather presentation box and crystal with number 57'380.
To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
This attractive and crisp hunter case watch is further accompanied by a personal family note showing the watch remained in the original family for several generations. The note reads If anything should happen to me, I want Bobby to have this watch on his 21st birthday. The watch was given to Grandma Black by Grandpa Black in 1881. It should be repaired and put in working order, 3 May, 1941. Given at the time of World War II one wonders if the present watch was left to a son prior to the father leaving for the war.
