POSSIBLY ITALIAN, MID-16TH CENTURY
With one-piece skull with low roped comb and incised on either side with a pair of lines, the lower-edge at the base of the skull formed as a hollow roped flange designed to turn on a gorget, later bellows visor and single cheek-piece, the last with hollow roped flange and spring-catch (the left cheek-piece lacking, discoloured overall, skull with some holing and old repairs)
