With double-edged tapering blade of flattened diamond section struck on each side with maker's mark at the forte, oblong ricasso incised with twin border-lines on each face and retaining some original gilding, parcel-gilt iron guard comprising cup of six arched openwork segments each with bottle-shaped centre formed of bars with pierced plate engraved with foliage and fluted cone-shaped finial, pointed quillon-block with slender vertically recurved quillons of hexagonal section each with large fluted cone-shaped finial, later spirally grooved wire-bound grip with Turk's heads, and faceted ovate pommel with gilt fluted central band and prominet faceted tang-button
