The first British military issue struck on the side with a broad arrow and '9562 'BGLR' COLLINS G CAMBRAI 1917-18', the top with later applied crown, '17/21' and skull and crossed bones badge bearing the motto 'OR GLORY' of the 17/21 Lancers, with later cord tassel; together with TWO CONTINENTAL BRASS BUGLES, one with cord tassel

The 17th Lancers were present at the battle of Cambrai in 1917 acting as cavalry in support of the new tanks. They were joined with 21st Lancers in 1923 forming the 17/21 Lancers
