LIMITED EDITION, number 6 of an unknown number, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY CHURCHILL: "To Stanley Baldwin from Winston S. Churchill, March 20, 1934. Also signed on colophon ("Winston S. Churchill"). A fine association of two great 20th century Prime Ministers. Churchill wrote the introduction to this 1934 reissue of "Paget's long and scathing catalogue of criticisms" of the work of Thomas Babington Macaulay, which first appeared in 1861. "No one should read Macaulay's History or his essays without also reading Paget's Examen," Churchill writes. Woods B22.
