Title printed in red and black. 15 engraved plates, of which 6 folding. (Title soiled, washed and repaired, light creasing and soiling with a few very minor marginal tears to dedication and 'to the Reader' leaf, light browning and staining to text, the plates clean and fresh.). Modern binding of panelled calf preserving original lower cover, contemporary upper cover supplied and recently tooled to match (rebacked and recornered).

FIRST EDITION. Edited by Richard Waller, Hooke's Posthumous Works includes his major contribution to geology, entitled 'Lectures and discourses on earthquakes'.
