Lot Essay

Hümpel Castle near Kaflzar fell into disrepair around 1800 and was probably pulled down during the 19th Century. Apart from a section of the front wall and the moat surrounding it, nothing remains of the castle today. The present drawing is the only known image that documents the castle in its former glory.
