Lot Essay

The Sint Joriskerk is in the heart of the medieval town centre of Amersfoort. The building of the church started in 1248 on the spot where it was thought that Saint George was baptized. The church was modified several times up to 1534, when it took on the appearance it still has today.

A slightly smaller version of this view, also dated 1825, is in the Museum Flehite, Amersfoort (inv. 1000-776).
