Originaire de Dijon, Henri Dubret s'installe à Paris à la fin du XIXème siècle. Il étudie à l'Ecole des Arts Décoratifs où il s'initie à l'orfévrerie et à la bijouterie. Participant régulièrement aux salons et notamment au Salon de la Société des Artistes Français, il présente, dès 1901, des bijoux Art Nouveau d'inspiration naturaliste. Connu pour son goût pour les papillons et les libellules, il aime aussi travailler un répertoire plus classique. Born in Dijon, Henri Dubret settled in Paris at the end of the 19th century. He began his studies in jewellery design and as a silversmith at the School of Decorative Arts. As a regular exhibitor at the jewellery exhibitions, he presented his Art Nouveau creations at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français in 1901. He is famous for his designs inspired by butterflies and dragonflies, but was also influenced by classical motifs.
