1936 FORD CX 10HP TUDOR SALOON

    Registration No. BUR 680
    Chassis No. 465 7331
    Engine No. Y 173631 P
    Black with green interior

Engine: four cylinder, side valve, monobloc, 1,172cc; Gearbox: three speed manual with synchromesh, centre change; Suspension: front and rear, independent by transverse leaf springs; Brakes: four wheel drum. Right hand drive.

Although not confirmed precisely by its chassis and engine numbers as a CX, the year of manufacture and styling match that of registration 'EG 2726', and it is thought therefore to be an identical model.

There is no log book or registration document with this Ford, however, its origins can be confirmed precisely by its registration number since this pre-fix was only issued for a 3 month period from June 1936 to August 1936 by Hertfordshire County Council. Last on the road in 1968, it still wears a tax disc dated to December that year, which is likely to have been the approximate time of purchase by the Sharpe family.

The car has spent many years in a farm barn and consequently its condition is now poor and in need of restoration. The bodywork has much surface corrosion, while the interior is the original but very tired. Unusually, providing some insight into its former ownership it has hand controls to enable driving by a handicapped person.
