Silver grey with tobacco leather interior.
Engine: all alloy, overhead valve V6, 2,775cc, 150bhp at 5,400 rpm; Gearbox: four-speed manual transaxle; Suspension: wishbones, coil springs to the front, de Dion axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs to the rear; Brakes: discs all round. Left-hand drive.
Lancia's most famous model probably remains the highly innovotive Lambda introduced in 1921 and having a four-cylinder overhead V-type engine, independent front suspension with vertical coil springs (featured on all Lancias until 1956) vacuum assisted four-wheel brakes, full pressure engine lubrication and water pump cooling.
Subsequent distinctive Lancias included the Aprilia and Aurelia, designed by Vittorio Jano of Alfa-Romeo fame and destined for success in the Mille Miglia, the Targa Floria and the Monte Carlo.
The Flaminia was the first Lancia designed by Antonio Fessici and was the flagship of the range when launched in 1957. Fessici had finally broken with tradition and had discarded the vertical coil independent front suspension in favour of wishbones. The engine was a 2.5 litre V6 driving through an aft-mounted gearbox and de Dion rear axle. In 1964 the 3C version was introduced with a 2.8 litre engine producing 152bhp. The Flaminia remained in production until 1970.
This particular 3C 2+2 coupe GTC belonged to one owner from 1968 to 1995. The bodywork is original and in good condition throughout while the leather trim is also original. A new clutch and rear shock absorbers have been fitted and the brakes and tranmission overhauled. Overall, this Flaminia is a well maintained example of a classic, attractive and useable GT coupe. It has French registration documents.
