    A 1:100 SCALE MODEL OF THE PADDLE SLOOP H.M.S. SALAMANDER (1836)
    modelled by P. Smith with details including masts, standing and running rigging, figurehead, anchors, bitts, gratings, capstan, shot racks, deck lights, paddle boxes with transports and davits over, stayed funnel, binnacles, helm, companionway, two life and one ship's boat in davits, fore and aft 24pdr cannon in carriages with inlaid deck tracks, six further cannon incarriages andother details. The hull with paddles, and rudder is copper sheathed below the the waterline and finished in black, white, red and varnish and mounted within a wood-bound glazed case. Overall measurements -- 16½ x 27in. (42 x 68.5cm.)
