Serial No.000, in sunburst finish, with gold-plated parts, single cutaway bound body, neck plate engraved 000 OF 300 CUSTOM MADE FOR ERIC CLAPTON 1992, maple neck with skunk-stripe routing, twenty-two fret fingerboard with dot inlays, two pickups, two rotary controls, selector switch, bridge baseplate with six adjustable saddles and simulated ivory pattern pickguard; and a brown tolex rectangular hardshell case lined with yellow plush and Lee Dickson's adhesive paper label Fender Custom Tele., S/Burst /?000 000 of 300; case containing a strap, Fender certificates and a lead
The 40th Anniversary Telecaster was brought out to commemorate the introduction of the Telecaster.
Eric Clapton confirmed that this guitar was made specially for him. He also said that he has played it from time to time. Lee Dickson recalls that Fender made this guitar with a unique 000 number as Clapton had seen and liked this anniversary model after all the 300 editions had been made.
