A 19TH CENTURY VIENNESE SILVER-GILT, ROCK-CRYSTAL & GEM-SET CUP & COVER IN THE RENAISSANCE MANNER,
APPARENTLY UNMARKED, CIRCA 1860,
Spherical rock-crystal top with panelled sides & capped by a jester finial, the straps set with carnelian intaglios, on foliate support rising from a knop which rests on four dolphins, set with precious & semi-precious stones, the square pedestal base applied on top with gem-set blue & green enamelled flowers, the sides of base with scrolling foliate panels in blue, red, green & yellow enamel, 8,1/4 in. high (21 cm.).
