This medal represents one of the first honours won by, arguably, the greatest Ranger to pull-on the famous light blue jersey. Alan Lauder Morton known as "The Wee Blue Devil" was born in Partick, Glasgow, in April 1893 and attended Airdrie Academy where he won the above medal. He subsequently joined Queen's Park in 1913 and then Rangers as a professional in June 1920 remaining there as a player until 1933. In this thirteen year period, he appeared no less than 31 times for Scotland; he won nine League Championship medals; two Scottish Cup Winner's medals; and appeared in three other finals. Subsequently he became a Rangers Director in 1933 and remained in this position until his death in December 1971.
