A Ballooning fan, the silk leaf painted with vignettes of Ascenc[sic]ion de Blanchard au Champ de Mars, a Paris, le 2 Mars 1784 and Ascension du 12 Juin 1784 aerostat de l'Accademie de Dijon par Guy de Morveau - et - de Virley direction a l'aide de Rames, the central vignette with three ladies and two gentlemen in 18th century dress watching through a mica window as they dine, the reserves with further mica spy holes and gauze insertions embroidered with spangles, the border embroidered with a trompe l'oeil of lace, the mother of pearl sticks pierced and gilt - 8in.
