The first with heavy wooden staff of circular section tapering towards the bottom and studded with domed brass-headed nails, at the top a short brass head of octagonal section comprising a tapering body between double mouldings surmounted by a pyramidal 'roof' terminating in a button, and at the bottom a brass ferrule of decagonal section between triple mouldings; the second with iron head made in one piece incised in the centre of each face with a device of concentric circles, and comprising small crescent-shaped axe-blade, triangular fluke and spike, and long open socket, on polished wooden haft pierced for a wrist-cord at the base, and with chequered grip
