The design on this dish is inspired by Ming prototypes such as the Chenghua dish in the National Palace Museum, Taibei illustrated in the Special Exhibition of Ch'eng-hua Porcelain, 1976, Catalogue, no. 15; related Xuande and Jiajing examples and also included ibid. 135 and 136 respectively.
