This bronze finial likely formed part of a Mahayana Buddhist grouping, mounted to a larger stem or column, cf. J. Boisselier, Le Cambodge, 1966, pl. LVIII; compare also two bronze finials sold at Christie's New York, 23 March 1999, lot 208.
