On an integrally cast rectangular plinth and a rectangular marble pedestal with moulded top and bottom edges.
Dark brown patina with lighter high points; chips to marble base.
10¾ in. (27.4 cm.) high

The present lot is a reduction of Antonio Canova's (1757-1822) famous marble called the Creugante housed in the Musei Vaticani, Rome and dated to circa 1795-1801.
No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis
