    South India, Tamilnadu, late Chola Period, circa 13th Century
    Standing in tribhanga on a rounded lotus pedestal with square plinth, with the right hand raised in katakamukha mudra and the pendent left in lola mudra, wearing a closely fitted dhoti tied with a sash at the waist, multi-tiered necklaces and beaded barcelets, her face with large almond-shaped eyes and aquiline nose in an alert expression, her hair arranged in tiered karandamukuta and adorned with a floral tiara, backed by a flowerhead-shaped aureole, covered overall with a silvery green patina
