The stag shown with head raised as it paws the ground, its body hollowed to form the censer and its nostrils pierced for issuing smoke, Shoulao forming the cover and shown holding a scroll, with mottled reddish-brown patina, with small two-character seals Zhuo Zhai, 'Studio of Refinement', cast on Shoulao's back and on the stag's belly
