A BRUSSELS HISTORICAL TAPESTRY,
First half 17th century,
depicting a Roman general on horseback being wounded by another with a dagger, before them another rider with turban, the background with a maiden before soldiers, within a border of fruiting columns with caryatides and parrots, the top with two maidens issuing from cornucopia, the base with dolphins flanking a medallion inscribed 'ROBVR.ET.VIS PRVDENTIE.IVNCT OMNIA.SVBERANT', areas of reweaving including the central section of the lower border, reduced in width, vertical cuts to the top of each side border, with town mark BB and two unidentified weaver's monograms
