A Canton famille rose charger made for Nasr al-Din Shah dated AH 1294/1877 AD painted and gilt with a cartouche bearing the inscription 'al-sultan al-khagan al-khagan al-sultan Nasr al-Din Shah Qajar', flanked by numerous further panels depicting birds and butterflies amongst flowers and rockwork, all on a dense floral ground -- 18¾in. (47.5cm.) diam, (cracked and with slight wear). See Illustration.
