A carved cinnabar lacquer circular box and cover, incised Qianlong six-character mark and of the period
the domed cover carved with a five clawed dragon coiling around a flaming pearl among cloud scrolls all within a band of two further pairs of dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls above a band of foaming waves around the base, the underside of base lacquered black, with the vertical reign mark above a four-character description of the box reading yunlong baohe (cloud and dragon treasure box) -- 6in. (15.2cm.) diam., Japanese fitted wood box.
