On an integrally carved oval plinth signed on the reverse of the rocky outcrop 'E. DEMI 1821' and on a later painted oval wood pedestal.

Purchased by the family of the vendor at a sale of works of art from the Palazzo Larderel, Livorno, circa 1970.
