silk with small floral sprig, trimmed with fly braid and scalopped ruching, closed bodice with later snap closures, cuffs lined in salmon pink silk; with matching petticoat, probably Scottish, circa 1770-1780
Scotland, family provenance holds that the dress was a wedding gown.
