It is rare to find a large size 17th Century loving or drinking cup in lignum vitae. It is more customary to find wassail bowls in lignum vitae and drinking cups in pear or fruitwood. The Pinto Reserve collection in Birmingham has a couple of similar examples but there are no others of exactly this form in the above quoted references.
