A Chinese Export gilt and black lacquered rectangular sewing box and hinged cover,
on four shaped giltwood feet, decorated with a lady and attendants before a pavilion within a fenced garden, within borders of butterflies and flowering branches, the interior with fitted inner tray and copmpartmented sections with ivory sewing utensils, lower drawer with writing slope similarly decorated in gilt -- 13½in. (35cm.) diam., 19th Century, (old wear and damages).
