A Chinese famille rose punchbowl, Qianlong (1736-1795)
decorated on the exterior with foliated floral and fruiting sprays between a border of gilt flowerheads reserved on a pearl ground around the rim and chrysanthemum sprigs around the foot, the interior with a central peony spray below the rim with foliated floral sprays reserved on a wave border -- 11 3/8in. (28.8cm.) diam.
