A Chinese 'Longquan' celadon stem bowl, 15th century with deep rounded sides rising to the everted rim, supported on a tall splayed foot, the centre incised with a medallion enclosing a leafy tree peony, the foot with an incised double bow-string, covered with an olive-green glaze except for the unglazed foot ring -- 5in. (12.6cm.) diam.
