Property of Paige Rense Noland
The following lots have been removed from Ms. Rense's New York apartment in the Carlyle Hotel and it is hardly surprising that the items reflect the exacting style and taste of the Editor-in-Chief of the world's most successful interiors magazine. Paige Rense joined Architectural Digest in 1970 and before long was running the publication and enhanced its circulation from a meager 50,000 to a staggering 850,000. The magazine has thousands of followers and her work has brought Paige Rense not only a string of accolades but also a remarkable and abiding respect from the interior design industry itself.
The items offered here reflect a wide diversity of styles, whether they be the ancient foot of a horse rider, previously in the collection of the late Bill Blass (lot 541), Jackie Onassis' chintz covered bedroom chair (lot 547) and her Chinese lacquer table from the entrance hall in her New York apartment (lot 538) or the Karl Springer desk from the study (lot 549), the items all blended meticulously in her apartment whilst overlooked by the striking paintings of her husband Kenneth Noland.
