A Chinese red pottery model of a horse
decorated in white, red and black pigments, standing on a shaped rectangular base with its right foreleg raised, the saddled beast wearing a bridle and trappings decorated with hanging pendants, the head turned slightly to the right and mouth open -- approx 18in. (47cm.) high, Tang Dynasty, (some restoration, old wear and areas of re-painting.)
Thermoluminescence Test Number C97k63 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
