A CINNABAR LACQUER DOUBLE SIDED BOX AND COVER, 19TH CENTURY
of high domed circular form, carved in high relief to the roundels of either end with three Immortals and assistant amongst rockwork, cloud scrolls and overhanging pine, the reverse side with a large phoenix amongst oversized peony blossoms, each bordered by bands of small dense prunus blossoms -- 7¼in. (18.4cm.) diam.
