    Lot Essay

See Michael Messenger, Coalport 1795-1926, Suffolk, 1995, p. 369-370, pl. 327 for a similar bellows bracket found at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum and Trust, Coalport China and for a discussion that names boxes made in this shape as 'amongst the more lavishly decorated of the Company's output during the early 1890's...and may well have been part of the Company's preparation for the World Fair of 1893.'
