Circular red lacquer box, the independent cover, sides and base encrusted with vertical two-colour gold piqué posé stripes, the lid centred by an oval glazed miniature of a young lady in white lace bordered low-cut blue silk dress with white silk bow at her corsage, her high-piled grey-powdered hair adorned with pink roses, framed by a gilt-metal ribbontwist border, the outer circular border engraved with woven bands enclosing stylized flowerheads, the interior lined with flecked composition
