shaped rectangular box, the cover boldly chased with a putto raising a pennant, another figure seated on a branch, within foliate scrolls and rocaille on a sablé ground, a recumbent lion in the foreground amidst musical and military trophies, the polished gold sides and base similarly chased, the interior of the cover set with a Prussian glazed watercolour miniature depicting ladies and their attendants bathing in a stream
