A CORINTHIAN LIDDED PYXIS
circa early 6th century b.c.
Cylindrical in form with inward curving walls, opposing horizontal handles below the rim, and a large knobbed finial at the center of the domed lid, the body with vertical lines in red alternating with sets of one or two in black, short rays below and a wavy line above, the lid with radiating lines in red alternating with sets of one or two in black, the finial with black bands
